Note: I quit linking titles to that big site that funds the rich dude and his space wars with other rich dudes. I’ve linked to Goodreads, but if you’re looking to support independent bookstores, my favorite local shop is Old Town Books (they ship!), and you can support my favorite podcast and a local shop of your choosing through their Bookshop.org link at KickBezosInTheBalls.org. And you can never go wrong with your local library!

Reading Goals:
1. Read 36 books – I finished 6 books toward my Goodreads Challenge and I’m 5 ahead of schedule.
- Audiobooks: 6
- Kindle: 25
- Physical books: 1
2. Decrease my TBR –
UPDATE: I finally inventoried my books after moving and purging. I have fewer books shelved overall now, even though I’ve added all of our cookbooks and Mike’s books (I never counted them before). And there are so many empty shelves! I also counted my physical TBR and it’s down to 57 (again, I purged a bunch, but I added a few of Mike’s).
- Jan 1: 64 physical / 20 digital
- Feb 4: TBD**/20
- Mar 2: TBD**/20
- Apr 3: TBD**/20
- May 2: TBD**/19
- June 3: TBD**/20
- July 4: TBD†/20
- Aug 4: TBD†/20
- Sept 6: TBD†/20
- Oct 11: 57/20
* In August, I did a mid-year correction/update on a bunch of stats that were incorrect.
** I purged a LOT of books when we moved, and I’ll be reunited with my books soon!
† My books are unpacked. I’ll do an inventory soon.
3. Read 24 minutes per day – Sept 30 was Day 1111 of my reading streak.
My September reading looks more impressive than it felt. Yes, I read 6 books, but 1 was a board book, 2 were YA/MA, and 1 is a business book I’ve been working through since April. And even though I registered 4 5-star reads, that feels like a misrepresentation of enjoyment.
Since I’m filing my report so late this month, I’m only committing to 3 books for October. I haven’t finished any yet, which doesn’t instill much confidence for big numbers.
