Time for a wrap-up!

September goal:

I’m only going to commit to 3 books.

What I read:

Note: I quit linking titles to that big site that funds the rich dude and his space wars with other rich dudes. I’ve linked to Goodreads, but if you’re looking to support independent bookstores, my favorite local shop is Old Town Books (they ship!), and you can support my favorite podcast and a local shop of your choosing through their Bookshop.org link at KickBezosInTheBalls.org. And you can never go wrong with your local library!

  • Apr: 0
  • May: 0 (I need to get going on this)
  • Jun: 1 short story collection
  • Jul: 1 short story collection
  • Aug: 0
  • Sept: 0

4. Read 23 minutes per day – I’m on Day 745 of my reading streak.

The numbers look bad for September—it was definitely a struggle. I had a ton of work ahead of an upcoming trip and a lot of life stuff. Some of that work included editing a novel, which only shows up under my “unrated books” but is not counted toward my Goodreads Challenge total. I should probably just count it somehow because I’m about to finish a second novel edit. I definitely read both of those books—multiple times!  Also, I’m 70% through a 20-hour audiobook.

October involves a couple of very long flights. Sometimes that means a lot of reading. We’ll see. Then there’s that 30% remaining on my current audiobook… And somehow it’s Poetober! I’ve been so focused on the upcoming trip that I haven’t spent more than a few minutes even thinking about Poetober, never mind planning for it. Perhaps some Shirley Jackson?

I’ll commit to 3 books, just in case I don’t read much on the trip/on the plane.
