Time for a wrap-up!

April goal:

I’m only committing to 4—life’s been strange lately. As long as I keep my reading streak alive, I’ll consider it a win.

What I read:

Note: I quit linking titles to that big site that funds the rich dude and his space wars with other rich dudes. I’ve linked to Goodreads, but if you’re looking to support independent bookstores, my favorite local shop is Old Town Books (they ship!), and you can support my favorite podcast and a local shop of your choosing through their Bookshop.org link at KickBezosInTheBalls.org. And you can never go wrong with your local library!

Reading Goals:

  • Audiobooks: 9
  • Kindle: 10
  • Physical books: 0

2. Decrease my TBR –

  • Jan 1: 64 physical23 digital
  • Feb 1: 64/23
  • Feb 28: 64/23
  • Apr 2: 65/22 (birthday gift!)
  • May 1: 65/22

3. Read 6 short story collections/anthologies:

  • Jan: 0 (I forgot I set this goal)
  • Feb: 1 short story collection
  • Mar: 0
  • Apr: 0

4. Read 23 minutes per day – I’m on Day 593 of my reading streak.

I’m in a real reading rut. Of the 19 books I’ve read this year, 12 are 3* or worse. My first 3 books for April weren’t great, so I deliberately went back to an author I’ve been enjoying a lot recently. She didn’t disappoint. The knee injury continues to interfere with my reading quota, and I keep picking up books I’m not excited to go back to.

I didn’t read either of the physical books I’d considered last month, so maybe I’ll do that in May. I have a little bit of travel planned. I also have a required book for book club. I’m only committing to 3 books this month—life is too lifey right now for more.
